Details
Memory 8010 is another entry in Chuma Montemayor's Memory series, his ongoing study of time and the quiet persistence of visual recall. It reads as an index of memory rather than a documentary image — fragmentary, restrained, and emotionally held rather than stated.
Printed with inkjet on cotton paper, the work depends on that paper's tactile softness to keep its gradations fine and its contrast low, so the picture stays muted and contemplative. The square 38 × 38 cm format reinforces the sense of containment. It is one of five, marked 2 of 5 with an artist's proof, and comes unframed.
