Adjourn extends Alyssa Tang’s study of the figure as material and pressure. Based in Hong Kong and trained across art, architecture, and design, she holds the body in states of tension — here a moment deliberately deferred, paused mid-process rather than resolved. The title names that suspension, and the composition sustains it instead of releasing it.
Oil and charcoal on canvas carry the idea: oil for weight and saturation, charcoal for provisional line that keeps evidence of thought on the surface. The horizontal 74 × 107 cm format slows the eye and holds it in stillness, so the work reads as something interrupted and kept that way.
