Como si algo quisiera despertar Original Painting by Laura Cuadros
Details

Laura Cuadros paints the sky as a mirror for the mind. In her words, clouds “function as a metaphor for life and human perception” — forever shifting in shape, light, and density while remaining the same cloud. Como si algo quisiera despertar (“as if something wanted to awaken”) holds that threshold moment: no defined figure, but a sense of inner movement, something on the edge of emerging.

Painted in oil on wood, the piece builds soft gradations of light and density across a square field, its hyperreal surface inviting each viewer to find their own shape in the cloud. What changes, the work suggests, is less the sky than the way we look at it.

Oil on wood · 2026 · 80 × 80 cm (31.5 × 31.5 in) · Unique work · Painted on a wooden board, ready to hang · Certificate of authenticity included.
