CDTB001 belongs to the ongoing collaboration between Pepe Reyes and JoCa, worked in rollage — imagery cut from a print and reassembled by hand. Like its companions, the title reads as a code rather than a description, pointing to a process where repetition and structure, not narrative, generate meaning. The approach translates painting into a layered, fragmented register that stays deliberately systematic.

A giclée print on William Turner Hahnemühle 190 gsm paper forms the base, then folding and repetition give the flat sheet a sculptural rhythm. The archival process keeps fine detail and tonal depth intact while the reassembly sets order against disruption. Within its 30-centimeter square, the layered strips read as both structure and gesture, rewarding a close look.
